As part of our asset management work, we have launched a dedicated website for the multi family office MOSS Assets at mfo.machlegal.eu. It is aimed at business families who want their assets, structures and advisers under one roof and in one overview. The website content is in Czech.
Who MOSS Assets is for
MOSS Assets works for families whose assets have outgrown a single adviser: assets are spread across real estate, shareholdings and accounts at several banks in several countries, there are many advisers but no coordination, or the next generation is approaching. Families turn to a family office, for example, on the sale or takeover of a family business, a generational change, an inheritance or a change in the asset structure, a relocation, or assets in further countries.
Five areas, one point of contact
We set the scope of services according to what the family owns and needs. The overview is the foundation; further areas are added step by step:
- Overview and reporting: a single overview of assets across banks, structures and countries, regular reports, document management and a calendar of deadlines.
- Real estate and companies: coordination of managers and suppliers, lease administration, investment projects, general meetings and governance rules for companies.
- Family and succession: a family council, family rules and preparation for handing over to the next generation, including family gifting.
- Structures and the international dimension: trust funds and foundation funds, foreign companies and trusts, assets and family members in several countries.
- Advisers and family protection: coordination of lawyers, tax advisers, auditors, managers and banks, plus insurance, assistance services and inheritance and family matters.
The family thus receives concrete outputs: an overview of its assets, a calendar of deadlines, a clear family framework and an annual review.
Independence and the link to MACH LEGAL
Our only remuneration is the fee paid by the client. We accept no commissions from advisers, banks or suppliers, we sell no products, and we do not hold client funds in our own name. Decisions about assets are made by the client or the client’s licensed manager.
MOSS Assets is supported by MACH LEGAL, advokátní kancelář s.r.o., of which the managing director of MOSS Assets is a partner. Using the services of MACH LEGAL is not, however, a condition of cooperation, and the family always chooses its own advisers. We disclose this link openly.
Expert article: trust fund or foundation fund?
The website includes expert articles and downloadable manuals. The first, Svěřenský fond, nebo nadační fond: volba mezi stabilitou a flexibilitou (12 October 2026, in Czech), compares the two forms under Czech law: legal personality, establishment, governance, the founder’s influence, publicity and tax context. The key difference is that the nadační fond (foundation fund) is a legal entity, whereas the svěřenský fond (trust fund) is not. The choice is above all a choice between stability and flexibility.
The article expressly identifies questions that neither statute nor case law has yet resolved, and points to the foreign element, in particular where the founder or beneficiaries are German tax residents. Four short PDF leaflets on the topic are available for download.
